
Svetlana Semenova
Svetlana Semenova is a contemporary artist based in London, trained in the classical-realist tradition and an Associate Member of the Society of Women Artists. Her formal training includes courses at Central St. Martins in art and design, academic drawing and painting at Moscow's School of Architecture and Design, and graduation from the London Atelier of Representational Art (LARA). Her approach is firmly rooted in the tradition of representational art as passed down through European ateliers and academies, while also incorporating modern materials and themes. She works primarily in oils and charcoal, encompassing portraiture, still life and landscape. Her work has been exhibited across the United States, Europe and Russia, with multiple presentations at the Mall Galleries in London, including the Royal Society of Portrait Painters and Society of Women Artists Annual shows. She has won the Dame Emma Thompson Women in Art Prize (2023) and the Stanley Grimm Memorial Award (2022), and holds an Art Renewal Center scholarship (2017).
