Women in Art Prize CIC
1. Definitions
“Exhibition Administrators” refers to Women in Art. “WIA” means Women in Art. “Works” encompasses all artistic creations by artists. “The Exhibition” consists of selected submissions judged by a panel. One artist receives The Women in Art Prize, with additional runner-up prizes available.
2. General Conditions
These conditions govern work submission and exhibition management by Exhibition Administrators. Specific regulations and fees appear on the Women in Art Website.
3. Size and Pricing
Maximum dimensions: 1 metre wide or 130 cm height (including frame). Works should not exceed £3,000 pricing.
4. Frames
All accepted Works must be exhibition-ready and have D hooks. No projections permitted from the work’s rear.
5. Delivery of Work
Works must be delivered to a confirmed exhibition space.
6. Submissions
Eligible artists must be UK residents, identify as female, and be 18+. Overseas artists may enter the Overseas Prize only. Selection is artwork-based. To qualify for the main prize, applicants must submit a 300-word maximum artist’s statement explaining how the award impacts career development. A non-refundable submission fee applies.
Submission window: March 8th to June 21st via the Zealous platform.
7. Notification
Successful applicants appear on the website within 3 days of selection.
8. Collection of Works
Unsold works must be collected from the delivery address.
9. Intellectual Property Rights
Artists retain copyright and intellectual property. Exhibition Administrators may reproduce works for exhibitions, advertising, educational workshops, marketing, catalogues, posters, DVDs, websites, presentations, and gallery displays.
10. Liability
The Exhibition Administrators and/or their agents undertake no responsibility whatsoever for any loss of, or any damage to, Works. Maximum liability equals stated submission value minus 45%. Disputes proceed to independent arbitration.
11. Indemnity
Artists indemnify Exhibition Administrators against claims arising from financial or contractual arrangements with third parties unrelated to the administrators.
12. Personal Data
Personal data is held under the Data Protection Act 2018 and UK GDPR, used only for exhibition administration, and not transferred without consent.
13. Third-Party Contact
Artists consent to sharing contact details with interested buyers, commissioners, or licensors.
14. Conditions of Entry
Entrants must comply with delivery and collection conditions. Winners provide impact statements following the awards ceremony.
15. Disqualification
WIA may disqualify works for non-compliance with terms. Entry fees remain non-refundable.
