Introducing Our Photography Judge: Sophie Parker
We are delighted to welcome Sophie Parker to the Women in Art Prize jury as our dedicated photography judge for 2026.
Sophie joined Photo London in 2018, became Associate Director in 2021, and was appointed Director in 2024 — making her one of the most influential voices in photography today. She holds a Masters in Anthropology and Cultural Politics from Goldsmiths University, and brings a rigorous intellectual framework to her appreciation of photographic practice.
As the Eve Arnold Photography Prize continues to honour outstanding photographic work by women, Sophie’s expertise ensures the award reflects the highest standards in the field. Eve Arnold (1912–2012) was one of the first female photojournalists at Magnum Photos and remains an icon of documentary photography — a fitting namesake for a prize dedicated to women’s artistic achievement.
