Kaye Hodges is a portrait and figurative artist based in Mid Wales who studied Illustration at the University of Wales (Gwent College of Art) and worked as a freelance illustrator with Artist Partners, a London-based agency, on commissions for books, magazines, advertising, and children's books. She specialises in capturing both physical likeness and the inner persona of her subjects, with particular interest in how light shapes a work. Her exhibition history includes the National Portrait Gallery Portrait Award (1981, 1984, and 2010), the Daily Mail 'Not the Turner Prize' exhibition at the Mall Galleries, and the 2017 Sky Arts Portrait Artist of the Year competition. She is a member of the Society of Graphic Fine Arts and The Drawing Society, and has exhibited with the Society of Women Artists, Royal Society of British Artists, Royal Birmingham Society of Artists, and others. She previously taught art at Cranbrook School in Kent and has completed mural projects in hospitals, schools, sports clubs, and private homes in England.
