Jozefine

Han Han is a London-based portrait and figurative painter originally from Shanghai. She holds an MA in Fashion from the University of the Arts London, spent a decade in design, and transitioned to painting in 2020. Her work explores perception and the complexity of human presence, examining how experience and memory shape what we see and feel. Working mainly in oils, she aims to capture fleeting moments that reveal the quiet tension between appearance and emotion. Her background in fashion gives her work a strong sense of structure and tone, while her self-taught approach allows for freedom and experimentation. She appeared on Sky Arts Portrait Artist of the Year 2025, has exhibited at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition (2022, 2023), was longlisted for the Ruth Borchard Self Portrait Prize 2025, and is featured in Portraits for NHS Heroes (Bloomsbury, 2020).
