Dide

Portrait of a Dress

Dide is an award-winning painter, poet, and composer-soprano-violinist who works across oil paintings, sculpture in bronze and metal, and written poetry. She began painting during the COVID-19 lockdown. In 2023 and 2024 she was selected as an RBA (Royal Society of British Artists) Rising Star, won the Society of Women Artists' Karin Walker Young Artist Award, and was selected for the Women in Art Prize and the Aesthetica Art Prize. In 2025–2026 a portrait was selected for exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery. Her work explores overlooked subjects in art history, environmental consciousness, mental health, labour ethics, and the intersection of human identity with objects and spaces. She is shown nationally at venues including Mall Galleries, the Roundhouse, and York Art Gallery, and internationally in Istanbul, Venice, and Japan.
