Lost to Daydreams
Ava Khera is a fine art painter based in Birmingham who transitioned from an eight-year career in the design industry to pursue fine art full-time. She is known for figurative oil paintings featuring transcendent atmospheres and subtle narratives, employing tonal values and textured brushwork to depict soft, sensorial forms. She draws inspiration from art history, particularly the storytelling of Herbert Draper and the Pre-Raphaelites, alongside the rich colour palettes of Rococo painters. She paints modern, diverse women within natural settings, reframing narratives about womanhood through timeless natural contexts. She has been recognised with the UK Women in Art Award and 1st Prize at the Birmingham Open Exhibition (2023), exhibited at the Mall Galleries, and featured in publications including House & Garden and Flux Magazine.
