Beauty and Truth, Truth and Beauty

Karen Jones studied Illustration and Graphic Design at the London College of Printing. After leaving art school she worked as an in-house illustrator, freelance children's book illustrator, decorative arts shop owner, and founder of The Hive Artist studios. Inspired by Dadaism and the Surreal Maximalist movement, she now embraces digital technology to create powerful botanical artwork in large format, working microscopically and combining illustration with fine digital line. Her botanical work forms part of her ongoing Gardens of Earthy Delight series, and is held in public and private collections including the Royal Shakespeare Company and Essex County Council.
