Amy Haynes is a portrait photographer, mother, and musician based in Hackney, East London, who describes herself as 'made of the countryside and concert halls, cycle rides and wild swims.' After fifteen years as a classically trained violinist and music teacher, she transitioned to photography full time. Her practice centres on storytelling through portraiture — specialising in motherhood, maternity, family, and empowerment photography — alongside commercial and events work. She founded Wild Women, a photography network offering creativity, community, and co-working for creative professionals. Her photographic series 'The Obscured Mother' depicts local mothers and young children in relation to their place of work, challenging traditional views of motherhood.
