Herstory

Amy Heath (b. 1974, San Francisco) came to London to study art at 18. She holds a BA (Hons) in Painting from Chelsea College of Art (1994–97) and an MA in Drawing from Wimbledon School of Art (2001–03). Her practice spans painting, works on paper, and illustration, rooted in magical realism, feminism, and imaginative storytelling about the female experience. She served as artist's model for Dame Paula Rego (1998–99) — a formative experience that profoundly influenced her approach. She is a member of the Society of Women Artists and has exhibited at their Annual Open Exhibitions (2022–2025). She was longlisted for the VAA Professional Artist's Award (2023) and shortlisted for the Women in Art Prize (2025).
