Lizzie Coles is a portrait artist based in Cheshire. She initially pursued Fine Art but was redirected to Animation after being identified as colourblind. She later worked as a business director in advertising, supporting major brands including John Lewis and L'Oréal, before stepping away to raise her family. She relocated to Paris, where she spent five years studying life drawing at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière, then returned to the UK. She is currently in full remission from breast cancer following chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatment. Now working full-time as a visual artist, she specialises in figurative portraiture combining personality with graphic, bold, abstract artwork. She is an Associate Member of the SGFA (2023) and has exhibited in the Women in Art Prize (2024), RSBS Portrait Prize (2024), Royal Society of Portrait Painters (2023), and Derwent Art Prize (2023).
