Sheila Wallis

Ok Boomer

Sheila Wallis was born in Derry City in 1972 and lives and works in London. She earned her Master's Degree from the City and Guilds of London Art School in 2014, receiving the Principal's Prize. She brings the skills of a traditional figurative artist to a spectrum of contemporary and historical subject matter, working across diverse sources from X-ray imaging to cinematic stills, daguerreotypes, and photojournalistic sources. Her awards include the Threadneedle Prize, the Winsor and Newton Painting/Watts Gallery Painting Prize (2009), and the ING Discerning Eye London and South East regional prize (2019, 2021). She maintains a small private teaching studio in London and occasionally accepts portrait commissions.
