Teresa Wells

I Spirit

Teresa Wells gained a First Class Honours degree in Fine Art from Nottingham Trent University and completed postgraduate study at Loughborough University under John Atkin FRBS and Dan Archer FRBS. Her sculptural language is informed by both classical traditions and contemporary ideas. Originally trained as an illustrator, Wells brings a strong sense of movement and line to her work. Working predominantly in bronze, she creates figurative sculptures poised on geometric steel supports, capturing moments of tension, resilience and transformation. Her work has been exhibited internationally and recognised with awards, including Best Sculpture for Narcissus at the ‘Mind Body Spirit’ International Art Competition in 2019. She was shortlisted for The Blunden Prize in 2023 and won Creekside Open 2015 at APT Gallery, London, selected and nominated by Richard Deacon CBE. She was also awarded Silver at RHS Badminton, and Silver-Gilt at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. Her work is held in public and private collections, including the permanent collection of The Robert T. Webb Sculpture Park, USA.
