Sofia Petrova-Halkidis is a contemporary abstract landscape artist who studied at the Stieglitz Academy in St. Petersburg before moving to Italy, where she earned an MA from the Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma. She now lives and works in London, balancing her artistic practice with a commitment to arts education. Her recent work explores natural environments as sites of emotional geography, translating elemental forces —such as geological formations and volcanic energy—into abstract compositions of colour, texture, and movement. Through painting, she investigates the relationship between external landscapes and inner experience, creating works that evoke the vitality and transformative power of the natural world.
