Born in Beirut in 1995, Nour Huda is a Lebanese artist based in the UK whose narrative-driven painterly works deeply explore the emotional landscape of the human experience. Huda's work focuses on the raw emotion and honesty conveyed through the human figure. Her practice translates personal and universal narratives into layered, textured compositions. She draws stylistic inspiration from masters like Caravaggio, Rembrandt, Bouguereau, and ZdzisĄaw BeksiĆski. Her evocative imagery addresses profound themes, including her experiences living through conflict, navigating identity outside of a religious environemt, motherhood, and recently grief due to the sudden loss of her husband. This imagery fosters a dialogue between internal reflection and navigating the external world. Huda frequently experiments with diverse mediums, ranging from charcoal, pastel, and gold leaf on panels, but her most preferred medium over the recent years has been oils and mixed media. Her work has been featured in numerous national and international exhibitions and is held in private collections across the UK, US, Lebanon, and Qatar. Notably, her talent gained widespread recognition when she appeared on Sky Arts’ Portrait Artist of the Year in 2023, where her work was selected as the guest sitter’s choice.
