Kaye Hodges, after leaving University, worked as an illustrator for Artist Partners, specialising in figurative pieces for all the publishing houses, childrens publications and magazine serials. She has had portraits selected for the annual competiton at the National Portrait Gallery, and self portraits selected for the Ruth Bouchard Portrait Prize, and has had work exhibitied in various London galleries, Birmingham and Liverpool. Kaye's primary focus is her subjects' immersion in their surroundings, with particular attention to their facial character. She likes to reflect in her sitters, a sense of contemplation and their private thoughts that swirl in their head, as a snapshot of that precise moment. She portrays women throughout their careers, showcasing their passion for their creatvity and discipline.
