Deborah Hercun's prints are marked by an exploration of time, loss and fragmented perspectives, as she draws upon her peripatetic background and a previous life studying film and working as a managing editor in publishing. Her prints often incorporate unusual angles and perspectives, prompting viewers to pause and reconsider the familiar. This is especially evident in her photopolymer etchings, where her photographs are transformed into abstract yet evocative prints. Deborah's studio is a place of continued experimentation with diverse printmaking methods. In addition to photopolymer etching and screen printing, she has started to experiment with mezzotint and has plans to develop artists books in the future. Deborah is an active member of several printmaking groups, including the Printmakers Council, East London Printmakers, Kew Studio and Richmond Printmakers, and has exhibited with these groups as well as at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair and Bankside Gallery, home of the Royal Society of Printmakers.
